Director Kelly Harms

Kelly at Read-ThruBorn and raised in Alberta, Kelly has spent the last decade working as an actor, writer, director and producer. Graduating from Film School in 1996, Kelly set off for the bright lights of New York City where he studied with one of America’s most respected acting instructors, Uta Hagen. In the proceeding years, he’s amassed a varied and eclectic resume that includes lead actor in Bruce McDonald’s Picture Claire, Story Editor and producer of the feature film The Happy Couple, producer-lead actor in Fairytales and Pornography and director of the Western Short Film The Outlaws of Missouri and most recently the short film GREEN. Strongly influenced by a melting pot of world cinematic directors, Kelly believes that there is no drama without its comedy and no comedy without its drama.

Kelly is currently developing feature films Stiffed and The Graduates.

Kelly graduated from the director’s lab at the CFC where he made the award winning short film Cursing Hanley which premiered at the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival and screened at the Atlantic Film Festival, The Calgary International Film Festival, The Vancouver International Film Festival, Whistler Film Festival, Victoria Film Festival, Kingston Canadian Film Festival, AFI Dallas and the Worldwide Short Film Festival among others.

Kelly is represented by the Jennifer Hollyer Agency.
